New Beginnings

Today is officially one month into me deciding to change my life.  I woke up January 1st, much like I have for 13 years and told myself this is year it was going to be different.  It told myself I was going to make a change for the better and stop making excuses about where I was at with my weight, me health, my depression, and my lifestyle.  I knew it needed to be different this time, and if I wanted to succeed I was going to have to do something drastic, and this is it.   If you haven’t read the “About me” section, you can read a little bit more into the other reasons why I’m here today.  I’ve decided to make my success/failures public for everyone to see, to give myself the motivation, encouragement, and support, of as many as people I can to not only change myself but hopefully change other peoples lives by showing and telling people that they are not alone in the struggles I’ve faced me entire life.

Saying all that….here is my first of many updates you’ll be seeing in the future.  I encourage anyone who has advice, criticisms, or anything else to share it with me through email or by leaving comments on here.  I appreciate all your love, support, and encouragement in advance – Jeff

So as I mentioned before I started January 1st, my idea’s were pretty basic, eat better, stop drinking alcohol, and go to the gym.  Having lost and gained weight my entire life I can tell you that the hardest part of starting any diet, or workout program that it all comes down to the same thing.  STICKING TO IT.  Is it going to suck? Yes. Are you going to be sore? YES. Are you going to have temptations? YES.  But it’s important to remember that one bad meal or day wont make or break you, you gotta get up after your fall down and keep going.  It was a very difficult month but the levels of increased energy, happiness and better sleeps have been quite noticeable to me and the ones closest to me.  I signed up for a program called Health Wage (check the site for yourself for full info) but you essentially bet money on yourself to succeed.  If you win, you get a payout that can be anywhere from 2-1 up to 8-1 odds, however if you don’t make your weight you loose all the money you bet on yourself…..how about that for motivation?  If I win I’m planning to use a portion of my winnings to travel which is my biggest passion, and that’s my light at the end of the tunnel with this grind.  I bet aggressive and my payout is reflective of it.  I chose to loose 65 pounds in 6 months.

This morning I stepped on the scale and was happy to see that I had lost 21.4 pounds in my first full month.  On par with the weight I have to loose to reach my goal, but certainly a good start and something that was very encouraging.

My amazing and supportive brother helped create this website and logo with me and I can’t thank him enough for giving me this awesome platform.  Thanks Ryan!

Breakfast – 2 Eggs, Oatmeal

Snack – Carrots/Celery

Lunch – Ground Turkey burger with whole wheat bun

Snack (pre workout) – Greek yogurt and fruit

Dinner – Salmon, rice, veggies

Weight loss this week – 6.2 pounds
BMI starting – 37.8
BMI current -35.2
